SUMMARY:Creating Highly Persuasive Trial Graphics – Showing the Finder of Fact Why You Win
DESCRIPTION:Lawyers are naturally gifted with words. But words can only go so far in explaining, educating, and persuading. We intuitively know the power of visuals and how they allow your finder of fact to see what you are saying, but what many trial lawyers fail to appreciate is how the process of thinking visually can often have a far greater impact on their overall case. The process of creating a graphic forces lawyers to think differently, and it allows them to simplify their explanations of what occurred and what needs to be taught in order to persuade.\nThis three-hour program will focus on real-world examples and problems routinely encountered by trial lawyers in both civil and criminal cases. It will also outline the process trial lawyers should follow to strengthen their case by thinking visually and with actual graphics. The presenter, Chris Ritter, has over 40 years’ experience trying and consulting on virtually every type of civil and criminal case. He is the author of Creating Winning Trial Strategies and Graphics, published by the American Bar Association and considered one of the definitive works in this area. This lecture builds on Chris Ritter’s successful presentation to the Manitoba Bar Association earlier this year.\nPlease RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online (link above). This is an in-person event only.\nAttendance at this MBA meeting can be applied toward your Law Society of Manitoba Continuing Professional Development for a maximum of 3 hours.\n
