DESCRIPTION:In September 2023 the Canadian chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) released “A Guide to Assisting Persons in Vulnerable Circumstances ( https://online.fliphtml5.com/zskjb/tdjf/#p=1 )”. The presentation will review highlights of the guide and how it can be used to assist lawyers when serving their clients. This educational session is valuable for all lawyers, as it provides essential insights and practical strategies for supporting and assisting elderly or vulnerable clients, benefiting practitioners across all areas of law.\nRSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online (link above). The Zoom log in link will be sent out the morning of the meeting.\nAttendance at this MBA Section meeting can be applied towards your Law Society of Manitoba’s Continuing Professional Development requirement for a maximum of 1.5 hours.\n
