Madam Justice Kim Antonio, Manitoba Court of Queen’s Bench\nTOPIC: Transitioning from Legal practice to Family Court Justice\nPlease join us for our annual informal year-end gathering (virtually), to recap and celebrate what our Section has accomplished in 2020-2021.\nWe will be couriering snack boxes prepared by GoodLocal to all participants. Please enter the address you will be at while participating in the Zoom meeting on June 22nd into the “Special Needs (dietary and other)” box on the registration page and we will arrange delivery. Please note that if you live outside of Winnipeg, Headingley, East St.Paul, West St. Paul and St. Norbert you will need to arrange for pick up of your snack box from GoodLocal at 1041 Erin Street. If not enter a delivery address or indicate you will pick up snack box at GoodLocal in the special needs box, we will assume you do not want a snack box and will not arrange for one for you. Please RSVP by Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in order to receive a snack box.\nPlease RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online at www.cbapd.org.\nYou will need a computer or laptop (PC or Mac), smartphone or tablet with a microphone and webcam (built-in or external) and an internet connection.\nIf you will be participating from a laptop, you would also need to install a Zoom Client for Meetings from this site: https://zoom.us/download. If you are unsure whether you have the latest version of Zoom, please follow the instructions HERE.\nIf you are planning to participate from smartphone or tablet you would need to install an App from the Apple Store or Google Play.   if you are installing the app from the Apple Store or Google Play to use on an iPad, iPhone or Android device or tablet the free app is called “Zoom Cloud Meetings”.\nWe would recommend that you have either the Zoom Cloud Meetings App or the Zoom Client for Meetings downloaded at least 15 minutes before the meeting.\nWhen you do join, please allow your device to join with audio.  This feature can be found under Join Options in an Apple or Android device or Join with Computer Audio if you are participating on a laptop.\nAll participants should ensure they have set up their Zoom information to display your actual name (not just your device name) so that everyone knows who is on the call and anyone not invited to attend will be more easily identified, this also helps us properly track attendance at PD sessions.\nIf you are having troubles, please email sections@cba-mb.ca.\nAt approximately 9:30am on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 an email will be sent from the MBA advising you of the link that you will click on to join the Zoom video conference meeting.\nAttendance at this MBA meeting can be applied towards your Law Society of Manitoba’s Continuing Professional Development for a maximum of 1.5 hours.\nDavid Davis\nChair, MBA Legal Research Section\nDavis Cyber Law\nPh: 204-294-9616\ndavid@daviscyberlaw.com\n
