DESCRIPTION:MANITOBA BAR ASSOCIATION\nCHILD & YOUTH LAW SECTION\nNOTICE OF ONLINE MEETING\nDATE: Friday, September 10, 2021\nTIME:  12:00 Noon – 1:30pm\nLOCATION: Online Video Conference\nTOPIC: Custody Calls\nSPEAKERS:\nStacey Soldier, Cochrane Saxberg Law\nMark Wasyliw, Bueti Wasyliw Wiebe Law Corporation\nWendy Martin White, Martin White & Associates\nPlease join the Child & Youth Law Section for a lunch and learn session where we will be talking about custody calls in general, special youth considerations and specific advice in certain areas: impaired driving, sexual assaults and murders.  We will discuss best practices and will provide a checklist and handouts.\nPlease RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online at www.cbapd.org.\nYou will need a computer or laptop (PC or Mac), smartphone or tablet with a microphone and webcam (built-in or external) and an internet connection.\nIf you will be participating from a laptop, you would also need to install a Zoom Client for Meetings from this site: https://zoom.us/download. If you are unsure whether you have the latest version of Zoom, please follow the instructions HERE.\nIf you are planning to participate from smartphone or tablet you would need to install an App from the Apple Store or Google Play.   if you are installing the app from the Apple Store or Google Play to use on an iPad, iPhone or Android device or tablet the free app is called “Zoom Cloud Meetings”.\nWe would recommend that you have either the Zoom Cloud Meetings App or the Zoom Client for Meetings downloaded at least 15 minutes before the meeting.\nWhen you do join, please allow your device to join with audio.  This feature can be found under Join Options in an Apple or Android device or Join with Computer Audio if you are participating on a laptop.\nAll participants should ensure they have set up their Zoom information to display your actual name (not just your device name) so that everyone knows who is on the call and anyone not invited to attend will be more easily identified, this also helps us properly track attendance at PD sessions.\nIf you are having troubles, please email sections@cba-mb.ca.\nAt approximately 9:30am on Friday, September 10, 2021 an email will be sent from the MBA advising you of the link that you will click on to join the Zoom video conference meeting.  So it will be important to register before 5:00pm on Thursday, September 9, 2021.\nAttendance at this MBA Section meeting can be applied towards your Law Society of Manitoba’s Continuing Professional Development requirement for a maximum of 1.5 hours.\nAlexander Gilroy\nCo-Chair, MBA Child & Youth Law Section\nGray & Company\nPh: 204-943-3040\nalex@gray-company.com\nWendy Martin White\nCo-Chair, MBA Child & Youth Law Section\nMartin White & Associates\nPh: 204-415-9995\nwendy@wmwlaw.ca\n
