Join the students from Robson Hall’s Environmental Law class and hear from a representative of Lawyers for Climate Justice (L4CJ), a group of lawyers and law students focused on advancing climate justice within the Canadian legal profession.  Qualifies for 1.0 hours of CPD ethics, professionalism and/or practice management content.\nPlease RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online at www.cbapd.org.\nYou will need a computer or laptop (PC or Mac), smartphone or tablet with a microphone and webcam (built-in or external) and an internet connection.\nIf you will be participating from a laptop, you would also need to install a Zoom Client for Meetings from this site: https://zoom.us/download. If you are unsure whether you have the latest version of Zoom, please follow the instructions HERE.\nIf you are planning to participate from smartphone or tablet you would need to install an App from the Apple Store or Google Play.   if you are installing the app from the Apple Store or Google Play to use on an iPad, iPhone or Android device or tablet the free app is called “Zoom Cloud Meetings”.\nWe would recommend that you have either the Zoom Cloud Meetings App or the Zoom Client for Meetings downloaded at least 15 minutes before the meeting.\nWhen you do join, please allow your device to join with audio.  This feature can be found under Join Options in an Apple or Android device or Join with Computer Audio if you are participating on a laptop.\nAll participants should ensure they have set up their Zoom information to display your actual name (not just your device name) so that everyone knows who is on the call and anyone not invited to attend will be more easily identified, this also helps us properly track attendance at PD sessions.\nIf you are having troubles, please email sections@cba-mb.ca.\nAt approximately 9:30am on Friday, October 1, 2021 an email will be sent from the MBA advising you of the link that you will click on to join the Zoom video conference meeting.  So it will be important to register before 5:00pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021.\nAttendance at this MBA Section learning session can be applied towards your Law Society mandatory yearly continuing professional development requirement for 1.5 hours, including 1.0 hour for Ethics, Professionalism and Practice Management.\nNigel Thompson\nChair, MBA Environmental, Energy and Resources Law Section\nMLT Aikins LLP\nPh: 204-957-4659\nNThompson@mltaikins.com\n
