The CEC has four statutory duties:\n\nprovide advice and recommendations to the Minister of Environment, Climate and Parks (Minister);\nconduct public meetings or hearings and provide advice and recommendations to the Minister;\nconduct investigations into specific environmental concerns and report back to the Minister;\nact as a mediator between two or more parties to an environmental dispute and report back to the Minister.\n\nHear from the Chair of the CEC and lawyers who have participated in past hearings about the hearing process and the role of the CEC.
