Criminal Law and the Charter of Rights – A Historical Walking Tour Presented by Scott Newman of Newman & Company

In this webinar, Criminal defence lawyer Scott Newman will review the history of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which protects the basic rights of Canadians from state power, and places limits on the Governments of Canada. After reviewing this historical context, Mr. Newman will review the specific text and limitations contained within the Charter, and review the purposes behind each limitation listed within this constitutional document.
