Distinguished Visitors Lecture Series: Avi Gesser on AI

The Distinguished Visitors Lecture Series presents Avi Gesser speaking on “The Essential Role of Lawyers in the Adoption of AI”.

Avi Gesser leads the Artificial Intelligence Group at the international law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton. His practice focuses on advising major companies on a wide range of cybersecurity, privacy and artificial intelligence matters. He is currently representing over 60 global financial services firms, private equity firms, insurance companies, hedge funds and media organizations on their AI adoption and regulation compliance. Avi has written over 100 articles in AI and regularly advises boards and senior executives on governance, risk, and liability issues relating to both AI and cybersecurity. From 2010-2013, Avi served as Counsel to the Chief of the Criminal Division’s Fraud Section in the United States Department of Justice. Avi is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (B.Sc. 1991 and LL.B 1994).
