On June 22, 2023, the new mandatory disclosure rules in the Income Tax Act (Canada) (“Act”) received royal assent. These rules may impact individuals, corporations, trusts, partnerships, advisors, promoters or certain non-arm’s length parties by expanding the range of transactions that must be reported to the Canada Revenue Agency. Failure to report these transactions can result in significant penalties and extend limitation periods.
In this presentation, we provide a practical summary of the new mandatory disclosure rules, including what transactions apply, who needs to report, when to report, and the risks with failing to report.

RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online at www.cbapd.org. Space is limited. Lunch will be provided.

Attendance at this MBA Section meeting can be applied towards your Law Society of Manitoba’s Continuing Professional Development requirement for a maximum of 1.5 hours.
