Meeting with Canada-US Border Rights Clinic
We will be fortunate to have Kristin Marshall and Kathleen Hadekel, Staff Lawyers, and Jenn McIntyre, Clinic Coordinator, of the Canada-US Border Rights Clinic join us for an informal gathering!
The Canada-US Border Rights Clinic provides free legal information, advice and training about eligibility to seek protection at the Canada-US border. The clinic is a project of the Compass Refugee Centre (COMPASS Refugee Centre | Assist Accompany Advocate) and receives funding from both the Law Foundation of Ontario and the McLachlin Foundation.
The clinic is a member and supporter of the Canada-US Cross Border Network (Canada-US Cross Border Network | Canada-US Border Rights Clinic). The latter group is an informal network of organizations and individuals in Canada and the United States who support people seeking protection on both sides of the border. The network meets regularly to share information and to foster collaborations amongst network members.
Kristin, Kathleen and Jenn will provide an overview of the work of their clinic, then we will have an informal roundtable discussion of refugee-border matters, concluding with time for mingling and conversation.
