Reforming the Manitoba Human Rights Commission

This session will examine the issue of backlogs and delays at the Manitoba Human Rights Commission. Karen Sharma, the Executive Director of the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, will describe the legislative and policy changes that have been implemented to address these issues. The question of whether there might be a further law reform solution, such as moving to a direct access model rather than a gatekeeper model, will also be explored.

RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online. The link to join the Zoom meeting will be sent at 9:30am on Monday, September 16, 2024.

Attendance at this MBA meeting can be applied towards your Law Society of Manitoba Continuing Professional Development requirement for a maximum of 1.5 hours.

The event is finished.
