The Legislative and Regulatory Processes in Manitoba

SPEAKERS: Glenn Joynt, Chief Legislative Counsel, Manitoba Justice
Christina Wasyliw, Deputy Legislative Counsel & General Counsel, Manitoba Justice

The presentation will provide an overview on how bills become law in Manitoba and how regulations are made in Manitoba. It will also review the information available on the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba website, Laws of Manitoba website and the Engage MB website. Lastly the presentation will touch on the drafting process from a legislative counsel perspective.

Attendance at this MBA Section meeting can be applied towards your Law Society of Manitoba’s Continuing Professional Development requirement for a maximum of 1.5 hours.
