Wills, Healthcare Directives, and Powers of Attorney

A will is an important document for everyone to have. This presentation will discuss essential information to gather and questions to consider before having a will made. Learn what your will should include, the formal requirements for making a will, whom you should name as your executor, and what happens if you die and you do not have a will.

In addition to a will, everyone should have a Healthcare Directive and a Power of Attorney. Learn what these documents are, whom you should appoint, when does a power of attorney take effect, and what happens if you don’t have a power of attorney and are no longer competent to look after your financial affairs.

Offered in partnership with CLEA (Community Legal Education Association).

The library will be closed on Monday, February 17th for Louis Riel Day. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, February 18th at 8:30 a.m.
