Great Library Closed

Effective November 2, 2020, the Great Library will be closed to visitors. Staff will be working from home and we will try to fulfill your requests as best we can. You can reach us at library@lawsociety.mb.ca.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Manitoba Courts continue to operate and we are aware that the library is a place where you can conduct business while attending at court. With the city under a code red public health order, we feel that staff are best protected by working from home.

We will reopen the library once Winnipeg returns to a code orange order. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Using the DITA reader app and eBooks from desLibris

Library users may already be familiar with one of our online resources, the Irwin Law Collection, available through desLibris, but were you aware that those texts can be downloaded as an eBook for offline research?

The new Legal Ease guide, Using the DITA reader app and eBooks from desLibris, shows users how to install this app and use it to download content from desLibris.

For those unfamiliar with desLibris, check out our previous guide, desLibris and the Irwin Law Collection, here.

New Printing and Photocopying Procedure

Library users will now need to create a Papercut account to use printing and copying services at the library.

To start, email us at library@lawsociety.mb.ca for the registration link and create an account by clicking on “Register as a New User.”

Select a username and password. You will need to enter this on the Xerox machine when copying and scanning, or on the computer when sending a job to the printer.

Once you have created your account, you can login and add credit. You can pay with a PayPal account, credit card, or debit card.

Funds will automatically be deducted from your account when you print or photocopy.

If you need any help setting up an account, or you have any questions please contact the library.
