Staff Working from Home

Due to the planned demonstrations at the legislature Friday, February 4, 2022, library staff will be working from home. We hope to be able to provide you the same great service as when we’re here, but there may be some items we can’t retrieve. We plan to be back to our regular service on Monday.

Please contact us by email only until then. Thank you.

Library Open September 30th

The Great Library will be open our regular hours on September 30th , the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Staff will be available in person as well as by phone and email.

All three levels of the Manitoba Courts are proceeding with cases as well, as mentioned in the August 31 Notice to the Profession.

The court registry office will be closed.

New Library Hours for Lawyers

Lawyers are now able to work in the library after hours. Protective Services will let in lawyers from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Please note that there will be no staff support during those hours.

Library Reopening

With the decrease in COVID-19 cases and low test positivity rate, the library will be opening in a fuller capacity starting July 20th.

Our hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The doors will be open and no you will no longer need to call for access. There will be no after-hours access at this time however.

Attendees will be asked to check in at the front desk to provide their name and contact information for contact tracing.

Anyone using the library will still be required to wear masks when in shared workspaces. We’re looking forward to welcoming more of you back soon.

Library Reopening

With the cases in Manitoba dropping, the Library will be reopening on February 8th for members of the Law Society of Manitoba only.

We will return to our normal opening hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The doors will remain closed for now, as we will still be logging in all entrances. Please knock on the door, or call 204-945-1958 to be let in.

Visitors will be asked to sanitize their hands when they enter and wear masks.

Workstations will be sanitized after each use.

Manitoba Law Library will close at 11am on June 25 for a private event.
Staff will be available by email for research and reference questions.
