ESG Considerations for Corporate Counsel
SPEAKERS: Conor Chell, Samina Ullah and Laura Roberts, MLT Aikins LLP
Many organizations are implementing environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies in order to effect positive change in a meaningful, measurable way. These strategies are now important for all types of organizations including public and private companies, governments and Crown corporations, all of which face growing demands from investors and/or stakeholders for better disclosure on what they are doing to identify and address material ESG risks and opportunities. Increasingly, investment decisions by institutional and private investors and access to capital are also tied directly to the strength of an organization’s ESG strategy and performance.
Conor Chell, Samina Ullah and Laura Roberts from MLT Aikins will offer an overview of ESG strategies, reporting techniques and emerging trends, as well as issues for legal counsel to consider in navigating the complex and ever-changing ESG landscape.
This session is being offered in person as well as online. In person attendance is limited, but lunch will be provided.
