Manitoba Law Library

The Manitoba Law Library, also known as the Great Library, is the library for the legal profession in Manitoba. Our role is to support the Law Society of Manitoba’s mandate to protect the public, by ensuring lawyers have access to essential legal research tools.

We  have several computer workstations in the library, with access to WestlawNext Canada (IP authenticated), MS Office, and unrestricted internet. Copying and Printing are available for $0.10 per page, with payment by Credit, Debit, or Paypal through the Papercut management software. Scanning and Faxing are also available.

Our print collection contains up-to-date titles in a diverse selection of areas of law, based on our mandate to provide materials for the practicing bar. Search the Manitoba Law Library Catalogue for print books in our collection, as well as links to e-books and historic Manitoba judgments.

We also offer limited legal research assistance. We can:

  • Retrieve difficult to find cases, journal articles and commentary
  • Find legal authority for your problem, and direct you to leading cases and commentary
  • Instruct and conduct historical legislation research
