Library Closure: July 2

The Manitoba Law Library will be closed on Monday, July 2nd.

Lawyers may access the library between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by signing in at the security desk.

Regular hours resume on Tuesday, July 3rd.

Legislative Updates: Royal Assent

The following Acts received Royal Assent on June 4, 2018:

Confirm whether the bill requires proclamation by reviewing the Bill Status.

 

Library Closure: June 15

The Manitoba Law Library will  be closing at 11:00 am on Friday, June 15 for a swearing in ceremony reception.

After hours access will be available after 5:00 pm on Friday.

Regular hours will resume on Monday, June 18.

New Book Display: Wills

On June 18th the Winnipeg Public Library in conjunction with Community Legal Education Association is hosting a free session on Wills at the Windsor Park branch.

Lawyer Marvin Giesbrecht, of St. Mary’s Law LLP  will be speaking about what a will is, what it does, and what to include in your will.

CPD in the Library!

On Wednesday, June 20th our trainer, Frank Merryweather from LexisNexis will be here offering sessions to show users how to navigate and search the new Lexis Advance Quicklaw platform.

The sessions offered will be 30 minutes long, and each session qualifies for 30 minutes of your CPD requirements.

The schedule is as follows:

9:00 – 9:30        Criminal Law
10:00 – 10:30   Corporate/Commercial Law
11:00 – 11:30     Personal Injury Law
1:00 – 1:30          Family Law
2:00 – 2:30         Labour and Employment Law
3:00 – 3:30         Criminal Law
